Just as commercial companies have targets to be met governmental organizations need the best in planning solutions. For instance they need to meet national and international agreements in the area of safety or environmental inspections.

These targets are set on high political levels and have to be translated to, and planned so that they are operationally executable.

So within the government area we see multiple levels of strategy and planning, where yearly plans or even multi year plans are made. Based on these plans governmental departments have to define their plans involving different measurement criteria and constraints whilst aligning with the annual plans. These departmental plans have to be transformed in to daily, weekly or monthly plans, in line with the departmental level.
